1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the FB Video Downloader browser extension, website, extension account, subscription and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by echobot.dev ("we," "us" or "our").
By installing, accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. Description of the Service
FB Video Downloader helps users identify and download video files available through Facebook pages that they can access. The Service may provide:
- A compact in-page button for supported playable videos
- User-initiated batch discovery and serial downloads from supported Facebook views
- Best-available source selection, including DASH, HD, SD and MP4 sources
- Local merging of separate video and audio streams when required
- Custom folder and filename templates
- Free and paid Pro plan access
- Extension account, subscription-management and support features
The Service does not guarantee access to every Facebook video. Availability depends on the current browser session, page, permissions, source format and Facebook's website and systems.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful, authorized purposes. You must not:
- Download, reproduce, distribute, publish, sell or otherwise use content without the rights or permission required by law
- Violate copyright, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, contractual or other rights
- Use the Service to harass, exploit, stalk, threaten or harm another person
- Use the Service to access private, restricted or unavailable content that you are not authorized to view
- Circumvent access controls, digital rights management, security measures or platform restrictions
- Use the Service for illegal, fraudulent, deceptive or malicious activity
- Interfere with, overload, probe or disrupt the Service, Facebook, payment systems or related infrastructure
- Use automated means in a manner that violates Facebook terms, applicable rate limits or applicable law
- Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract protected source code except where applicable law expressly permits it
- Resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service itself without written permission
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these Terms, law or third-party rights have been violated.
4. Your Responsibility for Content Rights
You are responsible for every download. Use the Service only for videos you own, videos in the public domain or videos you have permission or another lawful basis to save.
Downloading a video does not grant you ownership or permission to repost, redistribute, publish, sell, edit or otherwise reuse it. You are solely responsible for determining whether your download and later use comply with:
- Copyright and neighboring-rights laws
- Privacy, publicity and data-protection laws
- Licenses and permissions provided by the creator or rights holder
- Facebook terms, policies and community standards
- Any contractual or professional obligations that apply to you
We do not review, approve or license Facebook content and cannot provide legal permission to use it.
5. Facebook and Third-Party Services
FB Video Downloader is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or associated with Meta Platforms, Inc. or Facebook. Facebook and related marks are trademarks of their respective owners.
Your use of Facebook remains governed by Facebook's own terms, policies and technical restrictions. Facebook may change its website, media formats, APIs, authentication, access rules or rate limits at any time. Such changes may interrupt or disable parts of the Service without notice.
The Service may also rely on browser vendors, hosting providers, account infrastructure, payment processors, email services and feedback tools. Your direct use of those services is governed by their own terms.
6. Extension Accounts
Some features may require an extension account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate information and keep it reasonably current
- Protect your account, browser profile and authentication credentials
- Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized account use
- Accept responsibility for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise
We may refuse, suspend or terminate an account to protect the Service, prevent abuse, comply with law or enforce these Terms. You may stop using the Service and request deletion of eligible account information by contacting us.
7. Free Plan and Feature Limits
The Free plan may include daily quick-download limits, per-batch limits or other usage restrictions. Current limits are shown in the extension and may change as the Service evolves. Attempts to evade, reset improperly or interfere with plan limits are prohibited.
We may change, add or remove Free features and limits at any time. We do not guarantee that a feature currently offered without charge will remain free indefinitely.
8. Pro Subscriptions, Billing and Cancellation
Pro plans may remove Free usage limits and provide additional features or support. Plan duration, price, billing frequency, taxes, currency and included benefits are displayed at checkout or inside the Service before purchase.
- Subscription charges are processed by a third-party payment provider
- Recurring plans renew according to the billing terms disclosed at checkout unless canceled
- You authorize the payment provider to charge the selected payment method for applicable fees and taxes
- You can use the subscription-management links provided in the extension to update billing or cancel when available
- After cancellation, access may continue until the end of the paid billing period unless the checkout terms or law require otherwise
- Refund eligibility is governed by the terms shown at checkout, the payment provider's rules and applicable consumer law
We may change future subscription prices or plan benefits. Where required, we or the payment provider will provide notice before a price change applies to a renewing subscription.
9. Downloads, Files and Device Resources
You control when a single or batch download starts. You are responsible for:
- Reviewing the source and download request before proceeding
- Maintaining sufficient device memory, storage space and network access
- Securing and managing files after they are downloaded
- Choosing appropriate folder and filename settings
- Keeping the relevant Facebook tab open while a batch is being discovered or processed
High-quality DASH downloads may temporarily use significant browser memory because separate video and audio streams must be held and merged locally. Large sources may fail if they exceed configured or device limits.
10. Data and Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. In summary, downloaded Facebook video files are not uploaded to echobot.dev as part of the download workflow, while extension account, configuration, plan, checkout and support services may communicate with echobot.dev and relevant providers.
You are responsible for securing your device, browser profile, Facebook session, extension account and downloaded files.
11. Our Intellectual Property
The Service, including its original software, design, branding, text and functionality, is owned by echobot.dev or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of the Service or third-party content. Open-source components remain governed by their respective licenses.
12. Feedback
If you send ideas, suggestions or feedback, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use, adapt and incorporate that feedback into the Service without obligation to compensate you. This does not transfer ownership of your confidential information or personal data.
13. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will always be available, secure, uninterrupted or error-free
- Every Facebook video will be detected or downloadable
- A particular resolution, format, audio track or source will be available
- Facebook or another third party will continue exposing compatible pages or media
- Downloaded content is lawful for your intended use
- Errors, compatibility issues or failed downloads will always be corrected
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, echobot.dev and its owners, affiliates, licensors and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, business, data, content, goodwill or use arising from the Service.
This includes claims related to unavailable or failed downloads, loss or corruption of files, copyright or privacy disputes, account access, subscription interruption, Facebook changes, device resource usage or reliance on downloaded content.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD $25 if you used only the Free plan, except where applicable law requires a different amount.
15. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless echobot.dev and its affiliates from claims, losses, liabilities and expenses arising from your misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, infringement of third-party rights or unlawful download, storage, distribution or use of content.
16. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using or uninstall the Service at any time. We may suspend, restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service or others, respond to legal requirements, prevent fraud or abuse, or address a violation of these Terms.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including content rights, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnification and dispute provisions—will survive.
17. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update, discontinue or modify the Service and these Terms. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Where required, material changes will be communicated through the Service or by other reasonable means. Continued use after updated Terms take effect means you accept them.
18. Governing Law and General Terms
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where echobot.dev operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise. Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us and attempt to resolve the matter informally.
If any provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a reorganization, merger, asset transfer or by operation of law.
